If it was not for Blayne Smiths review of their latest album on Overkill reviews I might have missed this band. In short the music is like epic Black metal, brutal at times with great melody and total atmosphere to immerse you in. Amazing stuff.

My Ellende journey started with Lebensnehmer, and ever since its release have I heard nothing but praise for its predecessor. Several years later, I understand why! Taking one melody and putting it in every song - differently, of course - is a very interesting concept. Other than that, it may be Ellende's most depressive album. While their music is always on the heavier emotional side (to put it mildly), Todbringer is like a skinning knife, cutting you wide open straight to the bone. Fatal.
