This is modern dark metal which combines ingredients from various sub-genres, including black metal, doom metal and dark rock, to a soulful melange. In strongest moments the songs even reach an intensity level which I only know from nordic bands like Ghost Brigade. Listen for example to "Unborn / Undying / Unknown", "Dissociation" or "The Awakening". Strong debut!
Favorite track: Unborn / Undying / Unknown.
Following the wait of almost a decade, the German debutant LAST MOON'S DAWN are now ready to present the highly anticipated "Absence" as a full-length album to the world of dark metal. Produced by Markus Siegenhort (Lantlôs/LowCityRain), the nine fascinating tracks co-produce a magical soundscape for any fans that adore the finest dark metal with influences of depressive rock. "Absence" demonstrates a sensational achievement of the band, and will be considered as a rare collection of captivating tunes which interwines with your dreams until eternity.
Brilliant post-black metal, post-rock: the album has a lot of interesting tracks. The vocals (both clean and harsh) enhance the melancholic atmosphere. The music unlike many post-rock albums, is well-thought authentic collective with thoughtful and partly cryptic lyrics.
My favorite track:
