ASTHENIA are releasing the new album "Aisa" on 20th June!
From the earliest "Still Lifes" to "Nucleation", and to the 2018 EP "Aplastic / Malebolge", the musical elements of the band appear to be increasingly rich and complex. The new album has even further revolutionised without the limit of genres - the typical shoegaze/post (black) metal/post hard core elements still remain, yet more ambient-based passages in the veins of depressive rock and progressive rock could remind audiences of late Katatonia and Porcupine Tree. However, the self-destructive characteristics associated with the ultimate tragedy conception of the ancient Greece are always regarded as the core elements of the themes that ASTHENIA seek to express, despite of the constantly evolving music style.
Limited to 100 copies on boxset CD, including a standard edition CD, a patch and a handkerchief. Standard edition CD limited to 300 copies, and cassette available in 60 copies.

Violet Cold et l'originalité, ce sont deux entités indissociables. Anomie — le nom est si bien choisi ! — bouscule les codes. Il bouscule les codes du black metal : d'une tragique mélancolie, certes, mais une ouverture poétique grâce aux instruments traditionnels ("Anomie" et "Violet Girl"). Mais il bouscule aussi les codes sociaux : les femmes sont à l'honneur. Si Violet Cold est au chant, ce sont les femmes qui assurent la narration et donc la structure de l'album. Le résultat est touchant.

Desperate Dreams

I just discovered Blackgaze last week thanks to Marunata, and I have to say Desperate Dreams gave me emotions and made me imagine things I never did before. I don't care about mixing synth/etc with metal, all I know is we are promised desperation and it delivers, unlike 99% of the other bands promising sadness, but depressing name songs aren't enough...After listening to this I just had to finally make an account, buy this, and get back to looking for gems, they still exist.
