After nearly 5 years, the solo dark folk project DirtyCreed from Shandong, China is now releasing his second full-length album "Bleeding Isle". In comparison to the simplistic approach on previous outputs, the new album sees a giant leap forward in terms of composition and recording. What remains unchanged is the melancholic and muffled inner self. The bleeding island in the grey ocean signifies the withering life and the ultimate despair in the darkness.

My Ellende journey started with Lebensnehmer, and ever since its release have I heard nothing but praise for its predecessor. Several years later, I understand why! Taking one melody and putting it in every song - differently, of course - is a very interesting concept. Other than that, it may be Ellende's most depressive album. While their music is always on the heavier emotional side (to put it mildly), Todbringer is like a skinning knife, cutting you wide open straight to the bone. Fatal. David Fischer
