Despite born out of the eternal frigid environment and the infamous frozen soil of Quebec, Nordicwinter shared rather little resemblance with his fellow comrades who are masters of dyeing melancholie with a texture of triumphant while ancient valor. Instead, that melancholie in Nordicwinter's own vision is more inward and sealed within the repetitive poetry of Atmospheric DSBM. So far this one-man project have released four critically acclaimed full lengths, while the most recent one, titled “Le dernier adieu”, once again proves his ability to create a vast yet desolate landscape with a minimalistic approach towards songwriting. As a homage towards his parents, “Le dernier adieu” is no doubt the most personal one ever saw the light, and we invite you all to join in and share your lament with his dirge of forsaken North. Pest Productions will release this great work this October as digipack CD with 8 pages booklet formats, don't miss out!

Elderwind really takes the emotionality of Atmospheric Black Metal to new heights everytime they release a new record, and that is a damn good achievement. I was afraid that Fires could not surpass The Colder The Night and I am still not sure if it does, but man this album is just pure pain in the best way possible. David Fischer
