Thermionic Studios This is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful melancholic counterpoint to today's metal. In fact, these songs are spectacular contrast for a metal show for preventing audience burnout and tune-out. More heavy artists need to explore these textures. Beautiful music doesn't have to be an act of selling out. Favorite track: dissolving into green.

Wolfman Atmospheric acoustics on top of a calm, driving beat and natural vocals makes for some great Opeth-esque vibes. Favorite track: dissolving into green.

West Maddox Even with all of the great metal albums released this year, this is still my favorite and it isn't even metal. Reminds me of the atmosphere made by old Opeth albums like My Arms, Your Hearse. A fantastic release and probably my album of the year across all genres I listen to.

a noend of mine is a new project by Alex Vynogradoff (Vin de Mia Trix, Kauan) and Anton Belov (Kauan, Helengard).

For years, Alex has been nurturing this music influenced by artists like Opeth and Steven Wilson, but it wasn’t until 2013 that Anton accidentally heard the demo and decided to join Alex in giving a noend of mine full life. The result is the debut album The Serenity’s Eve, released at Pest Productions on March 15, 2016.
