This album feels like a small window into another, hiden world, creating a desire to be there deep inside you. It´s a bit like trying to remember a dream which slightly fades away and all you can keep are the last memories slipping through your mind.

I just discovered Blackgaze last week thanks to Marunata, and I have to say Desperate Dreams gave me emotions and made me imagine things I never did before. I don't care about mixing synth/etc with metal, all I know is we are promised desperation and it delivers, unlike 99% of the other bands promising sadness, but depressing name songs aren't enough...After listening to this I just had to finally make an account, buy this, and get back to looking for gems, they still exist. Ten gorgeous compositions from Iceland’s Gísli Gunnarsson that ride the line between ambient & modern classical. Breathtaking. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 25, 2023

Jordan Vauvert
