Drowstorm is the newest solo project from the prolific Canadian black metal artist, Joe Caswell (Olim, Burden of Ymir). The debut of Drowstorm "Jubokko" (a yōkai tree that sucks up a significant amount of blood from the dead to live on) demonstrates a unique style of unorthodox black metal that captures dissonant tones, showing the scenes of doomsday of the planet.

If you told me that Dischordia shared members with Dysrhythmia I'd believe it without checking. Angular, dissonant constructions that give no fucks about human enjoyment. I need more.

An outstanding Extreme doom death album, in the best tradition. The funerary atmosphere reminds of Evoken ('Centuries of ooze" bears striking similarities, for my delight). It is overall sharp, dark, hypnotic and unrelenting. One of those rare convincing new bands that hold proud the legacy of the biggest names.
