Revolt! Purge! Vanquish all invading forces from our Fatherland's soils. Stand firm, young soldier, with fearless resolution, as the torrential fury of the Folks charging within the era's collective veins. Seventy-two yellow flowers drenched in the jade blood of the vanguards of our causes -- the boiling heat of our Nine Realms; eighteen stars of the fiercest steels that rivaled the brilliance of the Sun -- the unyielding Will of our Oath. Soaring above the clouds were the wings of our youths -- personifying the indomitable spirit of Whampoo -- and it's through their bloodsheds a new Nation was born. Long Live the Victory! Long live the Great Cause!
Holyarrow's third studio full-length is hence an ode dedicated to the revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their lives throughout the turmoil years of the early 20th century, as each track chronicles the specific resistance/warfare prefacing and during the 1911 Revolution and the Second Sino-Japanese War -- two of the most significant historical events leading to China's independence. Mournful, but equally triumphant, the listeners can witness a tremendous downplay of the Traditional Chinese musical elements on this record in favor of a more militant-inspired approach: melodies of various anthems are skillfully weaved into the marching riffs of Epic BM, pairing with an emphasis on a traditional heavy metal sound (and productions) -- arguably their strongest offering so far.
Pest Productions will release勝利萬歲 as digipak CD this March (ltd.200), plus a special box-set edition (ltd. 100 bundles), including the Holyarrow Plum Blossom metal pin and patch, 2 postcards.

Not many bands can keep my attention pretty much solely using synths, but this entity that is Lamp of Murmuur can do anything and evoke a wonderful atmosphere and showcase their ability to blend melody with a wall of static noise

Punishment and Devotion

M has stated that these tracks, written and recorded during the Submission and Slavery sessions, didn't quite fit in with that particular album. I would agree with him, these are a bit more like older Lamp of Murmuur, and don't quite fit the goth, post-punk, black metal vibe of the newest album.
